About Keshani…

“When I paint I find myself being drawn into a vacuum of energy, interpretation and expression. I don’t specialise in a particular subject matter with my painting. If I see something that I want to paint, whether it be in front of me or it could even be in my head, then I do”.

Keshani Douglas

My name is Keshani Douglas and I am a Wiltshire based artist who was born in London. My focus lies in painting interesting locations and situations. Having grown up in an artistic background I am a self taught artist who has been lucky enough to understand art as second nature.

I was greatly influenced by my late grandfather, Harold Philip Matthews who had been Head of Department of Painting at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and involved with the Euston Road group of artists.

I enjoy working with soft pastels and inks where I can focus on colour, movement and vibrancy for a more in depth result. I also love working with oils as well as acrylic paints. My work can be impressionistic. It can also be abstract.

I love my artwork to be bold and lively

I am an international artist working not only from my studio based in Wiltshire, UK but also my studio based on the Maltese Islands where I travel frequently throughout the year. I am greatly inspired by the different locations because they provide different colours, texture and light. I am regularly commissioned (UK + Maltese Island sales only) as well as exhibiting my artwork through galleries.
